Demon Hunter macros

Demon Hunters are agile and deadly fighters, using their demonic powers and unmatched mobility to hunt down and eliminate their infernal prey.

19 macros

  • Cancel Netherwalk

    Demon Hunter

    /cancelaura Netherwalk

Drops Netherwalk early. The immunity also stops you dealing damage, so once the dangerous moment has passed you want it gone rather than sitting there doing nothing.

  • #showtooltip Consume Magic
    /stopcasting
    /cast [@focus,harm,nodead][] Consume Magic

Stops whatever you are doing and purges a buff from your focus target, falling back to your target. The stopcasting line matters because Consume Magic is usually needed the instant a buff appears.

  • Darkness (Cursor)

    Demon Hunter

    #showtooltip Darkness
    /cast [@cursor] Darkness

Drops your raid-wide miss chance bubble at the cursor rather than under yourself. Being able to place it on the melee stack while you are off doing something else makes it far easier to use well.

  • #showtooltip Disrupt
    /cast [@focus,harm,nodead][] Disrupt

Interrupts your focus if it is alive and hostile, otherwise your current target. Disrupt has a short enough cooldown that you want it pointed at the right caster every time rather than most of the time.

  • #showtooltip Disrupt
    /cast [mod:alt,@target][@focus,harm,nodead][] Disrupt

Kicks your focus by default, but holding Alt forces the interrupt onto your current target instead. One key covers both the caster you are watching and whatever surprises you.

  • #showtooltip Fel Rush
    /cast Fel Rush
    /startattack

Fel Rush always fires the way your character is facing, which is a problem when your camera is pointing elsewhere. Adding a target-clear keeps it predictable in the middle of a pull.

  • #showtooltip Imprison
    /cast [mod:alt,@target][@focus,harm,nodead][] Imprison

Crowd controls your focus target, or your current target while Alt is held. Imprison breaks on damage, so putting it on a unit you are not attacking is almost always the point.

  • #showtooltip Metamorphosis
    /cast [@cursor] Metamorphosis

Havoc leaps to your cursor and transforms with no confirmation click. The leap also stuns where you land, which makes precise placement worth having on one key.

  • #showtooltip Metamorphosis
    /stopmacro [channeling:Eye Beam]
    /stopmacro [channeling:Fel Barrage]
    /cast [@cursor] Metamorphosis

Leaps to your cursor, but does nothing while Eye Beam or Fel Barrage is still channelling. Clipping your own Eye Beam to reposition loses a large chunk of its damage, and this makes that mistake impossible.

  • #showtooltip Metamorphosis
    /cast [@player] Metamorphosis

Transforms on the spot instead of leaping. When you are already in melee and just want the damage buff, jumping out of position to get it is the last thing you want.

  • #showtooltip Chaos Strike
    /stopmacro [channeling:Eye Beam]
    /stopmacro [channeling:Fel Barrage]
    /cast Chaos Strike

A template for your rotational buttons: the macro refuses to fire while Eye Beam or Fel Barrage is channelling, so spamming your filler cannot cut the channel short. Swap Chaos Strike for whichever ability you are binding.

  • #showtooltip Sigil of Chains
    /cast [@cursor] Sigil of Chains

Drags everything in the area to the middle of the sigil. Cast at the cursor it becomes a ranged pull, letting you gather a pack from across the room.

  • #showtooltip Sigil of Flame
    /cast [@cursor] Sigil of Flame

Drops Sigil of Flame where your mouse is pointing with no reticle step. Sigils have a delay before they detonate, so shaving the placement time off is the difference between catching a pack and missing it.

  • #showtooltip Sigil of Misery
    /cast [@cursor] Sigil of Misery

Places the fear sigil at your cursor instantly. Because it takes two seconds to go off, being able to lead a moving pack with it is far more useful than dropping it at your feet.

  • #showtooltip Sigil of Silence
    /cast [@cursor] Sigil of Silence

Puts the area silence exactly where the casters are standing. This is the sigil that most rewards precise placement, since a silence that lands a yard short does nothing at all.

  • #showtooltip Sigil of Spite
    /cast [@cursor] Sigil of Spite

Casts the sigil formerly known as Elysian Decree at your cursor. It was renamed to Sigil of Spite in Dragonflight, so older macros that still say Elysian Decree simply do nothing.

  • #showtooltip Sigil of Flame
    /cast [@player] Sigil of Flame

The self-cast counterpart to the cursor sigil macros — replace the spell name with whichever sigil you want. Dropping a sigil on your own position is the fastest option when the pack is already on top of you.

  • The Hunt (Focus)

    Demon Hunter

    #showtooltip The Hunt
    /cast [@focus,harm,nodead][] The Hunt

Charges your focus target if you have one. The Hunt is both your opener and a gap closer, so pointing it at a specific unit rather than whatever you happen to have targeted is worth the keybind.

  • #showtooltip Throw Glaive
    /cast [@mouseover,harm,nodead][] Throw Glaive

Throws a glaive at whatever you are hovering without changing target. The usual job is pulling a single ranged mob or finishing something at low health while you stay on the pack.

Every class shares the same macro syntax, so a good idea usually ports across.
