/friend Player.1234
/unfriend Player.1234Adds a player to your contacts list or removes them. Contacts are account-wide, so you see them online regardless of which character either of you is on.
Guild Wars 2 · profession
Revenants swap between two legends instead of weapon-swapping freely, spending energy in real time rather than waiting on cooldowns.

/friend Player.1234
/unfriend Player.1234Adds a player to your contacts list or removes them. Contacts are account-wide, so you see them online regardless of which character either of you is on.
/block Player.1234
/unblock Player.1234Stops a player contacting you, and reverses it again. /ignore and /unignore are aliases, and the block list survives across characters because it is account-wide.
/me raises the banner and holds the line.
/emotelistPrints a free-form emote in the third person, which reads as an action rather than speech. /emotelist shows every built-in animation emote you can use instead.
/rank
/rank 80Plants a banner showing your PvP rank. Adding a number from 1 to 80 drops a banner of that specific rank instead, which is used far more for messing about in town than for anything competitive.
/wiki Chak Egg SacOpens the official wiki in your browser for whatever you type after the command. Shift-clicking an item into chat first pastes its exact name, which makes this the fastest way to look up a recipe, a collection step or a skill.
/squadinvite Player.1234Invites a player straight into your squad. Commanders use it to pull in a specific person without them having to find the LFG entry.
/ginvite Player.1234Invites a player to whichever guild you are currently representing. Getting the representation right first is the step people forget.
/squadjoin Player.1234Requests to join the squad of any player already in it, which is far quicker than finding the commander tag on a crowded map. /sqjoin is the short form.
/squadleaveDrops you out of the current squad without touching your party. Handy when a meta finishes and you want to stop receiving squad chat immediately.
/map Tail up, squad in LFG under "Dragon's End"Posts to map chat, which is the channel that actually organises open-world metas. Keep the wording short — map chat scrolls fast during a meta event.
/inspectOpens the inspection panel for your target, showing their skins and dyes rather than their stats. The usual way to find out what armour someone is wearing before asking.
/invite Player.1234
/join Player.1234
/leaveThe three party commands that matter: invite someone, ask to join someone, or leave the party you are in. All three work by account name.
/age
/deathsTwo small status commands worth knowing: /age prints your total played time and /deaths prints how many times this character has been defeated. Both post to your own chat only.
/g2 Raid slot open for the 21:00 runYou represent one guild but stay in up to six. /g1 through /g6 post to a specific guild in your list, so you can answer your raid guild without switching representation.
/bugOpens the support panel with your current position and map already attached. Far more useful to ArenaNet than a forum post, because it carries the coordinates of whatever is broken. /support is an alias.
/ggDefeats your character on the spot. Raid, fractal and Super Adventure Box groups use it to reset an encounter the moment a mechanic is failed rather than waiting out a slow wipe. /resign, /ff and /qq all do the same thing.
/time
/ipPrints the current in-game time and the IP of the map server you are on. The IP is genuinely useful for map-hopping into a busy instance of a meta event.
/squad Breakbar up - CC now!Sends a message to the whole squad. Commanders keep a set of these ready for mechanics, breakbars and positioning so the call goes out without breaking the rotation for more than one keystroke.
/d Stack on tagThe short form of /squad is /d, not /sq. Worth learning properly, because guessing the alias mid-fight posts your callout into the wrong channel.
/team Enemy zerg pushing north campPosts to your team, which only exists in competitive modes. In World versus World this is the channel the whole server side sees, so it carries further than squad chat.
/lfgFlags you as looking for a group and opens the LFG panel in one keystroke. The flag is visible to your guild and contacts, so it works even when the panel itself is empty.
/mentorTurns your mentor icon on or off. New players use it to find someone willing to answer questions, and it costs nothing to leave running while you play.
/stuckTeleports you to the nearest walkable location, which frees a character clipped into terrain. Running it a second time usually moves you further if the first attempt lands you somewhere still stuck.
/w Player.1234 Invite when you get a second?Whispers a player by account name, including the four-digit suffix. /reply or /r answers whoever contacted you last, which is faster mid-fight.
/wikiTyping /wiki with no search term opens the wiki page for your current map. Useful for hunting down hero points, mastery insights and event chains without alt-tabbing to search.
/supplyinfo
/squadinfoPrints the supply carried by players near you, and /squadinfo does the same for your squad. Both are commander-only, and both are standard practice before calling a siege push.
Every profession shares the same macro syntax, so a good idea usually ports across.
